These make ahead sweet and sour chicken wings are great to have in your freezer to pull out for game day or for an appetizer evening. They can be cooked in the crock pot, the oven or the Actifry, making them super versatile.
Since these chicken wings are not spicy, they can be enjoyed by young and old. The sauce on these is just full of sticky goodness!
You’ll want to have plenty of napkins or wet wipes on hand. These are not the kind of thing you can eat without getting your hands dirty!
Sweet and Sour Chicken Wings Recipe:
- 3 lbs. chicken wings
- 1/4 cup flour
- 1/2 cup water
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup vinegar
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 1 Tbsp. ketchup
Place 3 lbs. of chicken wings in a large resealable bag. Combine flour and water in a bowl. Mix in the remaining ingredients and pour over the chicken wings in the bag. Remove excess air, seal and freeze.
Cooking instructions: Thaw. Cook in slow cooker for 3-4 hours on high or 5-6 hours on low or bake in 350° oven, covered for 45 minutes. Uncover and cook another 10 minutes.
Note: I cooked mine in an Actifry for 22 minutes and they were cooked to perfection.
